Last updated: March 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Wikiracer at wikiracer.pro (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Wikiracer is a free-to-play multiplayer Wikipedia racing game where players navigate between Wikipedia articles using internal links. The Service includes solo, daily challenge, 1v1 ranked (Showdown), and multiplayer party game modes, along with social features such as friends, leaderboards, and leagues.
3. User Accounts
- You may create one account per person. Multiple accounts are not permitted.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information during registration. Impersonating other users, public figures, or Wikiracer staff is prohibited.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.
- Guest access is available for certain game modes without creating an account. Guest sessions are temporary and do not carry persistent data.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use bots, scripts, browser extensions, or any automated tools to play the game or gain an unfair advantage
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities in the Service
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users in any way
- Upload obscene, offensive, or illegal content (including avatars and usernames)
- Impersonate other users, administrators, or Wikiracer staff
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose
5. Fair Play
Wikiracer is a competitive game. To ensure a fair experience for all players:
- No automation: All navigation must be performed manually by the player. Using scripts, macros, or any form of automation is strictly prohibited.
- No match manipulation: Deliberately losing, stalling, or colluding with opponents to manipulate rankings is prohibited.
- No sandbagging: Intentionally playing below your skill level to gain easier matchups or inflate stats is not allowed.
- No external tools: Using search engines, Wikipedia search, or other external aids during a round is against the spirit of the game.
Violations of fair play rules may result in penalties including rating resets, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
6. Content & Intellectual Property
- Wikipedia content: Wikipedia articles displayed within the Service are sourced from Wikipedia and are available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License. Wikiracer does not claim ownership of Wikipedia content.
- User content: By uploading content (such as avatar images), you grant Wikiracer a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and process that content for the purposes of operating the Service, including automated content moderation.
- Wikiracer IP: The Wikiracer name, logo, game mechanics, scoring systems, and platform code are the intellectual property of Wikiracer. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works based on the Service without permission.
7. Moderation & Enforcement
We use a combination of automated and manual moderation to keep Wikiracer safe:
- AI moderation: Avatar images are automatically reviewed by AI (Anthropic Claude) for inappropriate content upon upload.
- Username filtering: Usernames are checked against profanity and impersonation filters during profile setup.
- User reports: Players can report others for violations. Reports are reviewed by administrators.
- Administrative actions: We may issue warnings, mute accounts, lock avatars or usernames, temporarily suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these Terms.
If you believe a moderation action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting us at aaron.smolyar@gmail.com.
8. Account Termination
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.
- You may delete your account at any time. Account deletion will permanently remove your profile data. Some anonymized game records may be retained for leaderboard integrity.
- Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wikiracer and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is zero, as the Service is free).
11. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Before pursuing formal legal action, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at aaron.smolyar@gmail.com.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
